Charles “Charky” Kelly Shelton 85 went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Gila Regional Medical Center. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. He was born March 5, 1932 in Silver City, New Mexico. His parents were Louise “Jack” Lathrop Shelton and Thomas F. Shelton. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James “Speedy” and Thomas, and sister Dorothy. He is survived by his brother Lacy Shelton, daughter Amanda Jo Duncan, Grandsons Jace Shelton and Justis Estrada, Granddaughter Brianna Estrada, and great-grandson Harley Shelton. He was a wonderful uncle to Dawn, Tommy, John, Jamie, Debbie, Robby, Jackie, Kelly, Nat, Annie, Joe, Jeanne, Chuck, Steve, Kevin, and Kristen. “Charky” to family, Charles was also known as “Sharky” to locals. He worked several places, but is most well-known for teaching math in Reserve, and driving the school bus from Glenwood to Reserve.
